I so enjoy taking the “off” season to go back through the summer and fall prior and blog all my amazing sessions and weddings. As 2018 comes to a close it’s the perfect time to go through and reflect. This was my last official session in Acadia National Park and wow did I feel like I went out with a bang. The scenery, colors and lighting meshed so well for my session with Erin and Jake who were in Bar Harbor celebrating an anniversary and a baby on the way! We hit both Jordan Pond and Cadillac Mountain at just the right point in fall foliage. We also hit it on a very high tourist day but found parking effortlessly- and that’s a gift from something else ;) Thank you so much Erin and Jake for having me take these photos. It was so hard to pick my top ones to share here and that’s always a sign of a great session. Here are some of my favorites from our time in Acadia National Park.
Acadia National Park
Nothing beats a summer trip to Acadia! I'm always so happy to meet with families while they are vacationing in Bar Harbor for some family photos. I got to meet with the Khot family a couple of weeks ago. I loved their energy and with two young boys there was a lot! I welcome it because I think high energy makes for great candid photos. We decided to meet at Sand Beach as I've recently fell in love with the lighting and versatility of backdrops in that spot. I know the sun's routine there like the back of my hand! Thank you so much Khot family for spending some time with me on your vacation!
I'm LOVING all these family sessions I've gotten to photograph recently in Acadia. I've said it before and I'll say it again- having professional photos taken of your family while on vacation is such a great idea! The backdrop, the smiles, and the relaxed vacation feel all contribute to a great photo session. A couple of weeks ago I met up with the Colabella family whom were visiting the area and staying Cranberry Island. They wanted to get photos taken of their family while vacationing and I'm so glad they found me! We decided to use the gorgeous Sand Beach as our backdrop and it worked out so well. We got mountain views and rocky shore line, but I think a lot of my favorites were right at the end when they (parents AND children :) ) ran around in the waves. Thank you so much for spending the evening with me Colabellas! I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip!
Another "pinch me" moment in the books. Last October I photographed Anu and Tahira's proposal in Acadia National Park. A few weeks ago they contacted me again in the hopes of scheduling a last minute pre-wedding shoot in the same park in more traditional attire to use as photos at their wedding this coming August. I don't think I've ever said yes to a 2:30am wake up call quicker! Yes of course! Lets do it five times. It sounded like a dream. Not only to be able to photograph a happy couple in such a beautiful setting, but to see these two again after having such a great time with them this past fall. We met at the top of Cadillac Mountain to catch the sunrise scheduled for 4:48. We started shooting at about 4:30 when all the colors started to appear and let me tell you- Cadillac at sunrise is always a good idea. After we shot there for a bit we headed over to Otter Cliffs and then Eagle Lake. I'm over-the-moon happy with the results. Thank you so much for having me be your photographer Any and Tahira! All my best!
I'm excited to wrap up my 2016 wedding blog posts! My second to last wedding of the season was Elyse and Andrew's wedding in Bar Harbor, Maine. The foliage was on POINT, these two were a breeze, and the vibe to the day was so warm and inviting. I loved that they opted for bridal party photos in downtown Bar Harbor and to escape into Acadia National Park for portraits at the end. I really loved the details and all the little things they did for the kids that attended the wedding. There were a lot of little tikes around and the couple thought of some amazing ways for them to have fun. I'm so lucky they picked me to be their wedding photographer! Thanks Elyse and Andrew! Here are some of my favorites from the day!
I loved this board with the map of Bar Harbor on it. It was a perfect backdrop to Elyse's details.
