I get to work with pretty awesome people a lot. It's one of the perks of being a Maine wedding photographer. There's a ton of great talent in the industry and we like to create opportunities to collaborate on projects together. Maine also has amazing talent coming out all the time. When a past client of mine, Gwen, contacted me with a possible styled shoot idea, centered on her talent for design and event planning I was instantly hooked on the project. When we got to finally meet and I heard her idea for an Alice and Wonderland themed proposal, well I could have kissed her. Her vision and theme was right up my alley and 100% the aesthetic my photography and my brand align with. Gwen of Picture Perfect Proposal planned out an evening long proposal shoot at a private residence. The shoot started with a trail of hints and clues that correlated with story of Alice and led Megan to her beautiful dresses, tasty sweets, champagne, a romantic outdoor setting and an eventual bachelor on one knee! Thank you so much Picture Perfect Proposal for having me photograph your styled shoot!
Blush Bridal and Formal in Bangor, ME dawned our model, Megan with two beautiful Alice inspired dresses. I love how different the two dresses were while still fitting our theme. We used a cute cocktail dress when shooting indoors and a light blue gown for outdoor portraits. Matthew's suit and hat were from Vintage Finery, Fashion, Costumes, and Bridal. They went with the theme perfectly.
The macaroons and cake that you'll see later in this post were created by Cake Concoctions in Bangor, ME. I keep kicking myself because in the midst of post shooting happiness I forgot to try one! Every time I look at them in the images I want one.
Day's Jewelers lent us Megan's engagement ring, earrings, and necklace. I've had many brides work with them in the past so it was fun to get to highlight their stuff. Also these teacups- ring shot GOLD.
Our florals were from Fairwinds Florist in Blue Hill, Maine. I had gotten the opportunity to work with them for Stormi and Garret's wedding last year and twice now they have blown me away. I was in LOVE with the draping they did over the table and the little floral accents found everywhere.
The models were married couple, Megan and Matthew Janosco and they were hitting every pose I asked them. You'd never know this was their first round of professional modeling!
Are you expecting to propose soon and need inspiration? Well if you couldn't tell through this blog post, I cannot say enough good things about Picture Perfect Proposal's work.
