The birds chirping, the flowers blooming, and even the may/april rain showers have me in a mood to celebrate Spring! It always takes it's sweet time to arrive, that finkey season. Here in Maine we finally get ours about half way through and then we blink and it's summer. It goes so fast and you want to soak it in as much as possible. To celebrate the season I put together a few of my favorite images taken in Maine's beautiful three month period (but really more like 1 1/2) of Spring! Here's a look back at some sessions and weddings I've photographed during Maine's most short but gorgeous season!
My girl Rebecca is AMAZING! Not only is she an crazy talented photographer, she is so nice and fun and I've loved getting to work on different projects with her over the years that we've both been building our businesses. I wanted to revisit this fun spontaneous portrait session I did with her this past summer. I love shooting at Treworgy farms (most recently- here and here) and wanted to get in a session there in the sumer during their blueberry and raspberry seasons. They have a gorgeous blueberry field and a really neat green house for the raspberries, perfect spot for a photo shoot! Thank you so much Rebecca for being my guinea pig for the evening and also for the ice cream after :)
While this season for me has primarily been dedicated to weddings, I got the chance a couple weeks ago to break from my normal routine and photograph Julia! Her and her family live out of state but were in Camden, Maine for the summer and opted to have Julia's senior portraits taken while there. When I met them at the location they picked I could see why. It was my first time coming to the Camden amphitheater and I instantly fell in love with the area. It is the prefect place for portraits. All in one session we got fun architecture, water with boats, and a cute downtown with many flowers (including Poppies! my favorite!). Julia was such a joy to work with. She looked beautiful of course and was up for trying anything. Thank you so much Julia, for having me take your senior photos in Camden!
We started off our session at the Camden amphitheater. The grounds were great and the library was right next to it. The library offered a really dramatic stair case that we made good use of.
Then it was down to the harbor which was literally across the street. There were plenty of boats that made for a really fun backdrop paired with Julia's amazing outfit.
and lastly we went through the small downtown area to the Camden Yacht club. We walked by this beautiful field of flowers and then went down to the docks.
I am taking on a few more seniors this summer and have gotten quite a few inquires lately! If you're interested in having me take your senior portraits you can find more of my work in senior portraits here, info here and you can contact me here. I provide insight on locations, what to wear, and how to prepare for a successful senior portrait session.
Every time I finish a senior portrait session I feel refreshed and inspired. These seniors are in such an exciting time in their lives and to get to share in that even just a little bit is so fun for me. I got to photograph a really great group of students this past season and I'm really proud of the images we got. I'm looking forward to Spring (even though it's so far away) and getting to work with this fun age group. Here's a few of my favorites from my 2015 season in senior photography.
And here we are! Shannon was the last senior I got the pleasure of photographing in 2015 and it was a great way to end my senior season. We met at Dream Acres Equestrian Center to take some portraits with her horse, Alex. We then went over to her home for some additional portraits by the water. Here are some of my favorites from our time together. Thank you Shannon for having me take your senior pictures!
