Week 3! It was another week of mostly staying inside for us. Although I love Maine winters I'm really not built for this kind of cold. We've continued to find things to do inside our home and have been enjoying each other's company and that of a few visitors. I've also been anticipating the start of warmer weather with a few more 2018 wedding bookings (3 just last week!). I'm loving how this project has kept me practicing in the off season and learning new things. Until next week! Stay warm!
Wow! Week two of my 365 project was a little tricky. It was the busiest week I've had in awhile with lots of covering shifts and happily wedding bookings for my 2018 season! I did however manage to stop and take a photo each day. The cold temperatures and early sunsets made it so all of my work had to be taken inside usually after sun down. This isn't a problem but outdoors with natural light is my jam and I'm so looking forward to the day when I can actually go outside with my camera again. Looking back at this week, although I wish my lighting conditions had been better, I realize it's forced me to practice in less-than-ideal circumstances and I'm really happy to have these moments in the books! Julian had lots of fun with his friends, we congratulated my mother on her new job, and I redecorated my living room bookshelf. From big to small these moments are documented and I treasure each one! I hope you had a great week! Here's to the next half of January.

Hello! Welcome to this new, big, exciting, and sometimes very overwhelming if I think about it too much project I am taking on for 2018! After being so inspired by the work of one of my favorite Maine family photographers, Kristina O'brien and her own 365 project, I decided to try it out for the year. Everyday for all the 365 days of 2018 I will take a photo of my world to share. I love capturing all the special moments of my clients, but sometimes I can get so caught up in everyone else's stories that I forget to focus and take in my own. Also- we are only a week in and the benefits of putting in the work to document a part of each day have made themselves clear. I could be having a "meh" day but forcing myself to pull out my camera and take a picture of whats around me reminds myself of how truly lucky I am. Since a large portion of my focus each day is my child, Julian I checked in with him and he is on board! I take so many photos of this kid that I think when I told him "Just one picture a day", he thought YES! JUST ONE! not a zillion like normal. I'll be taking them daily and recapping them weekly here on my blog. Here is the first batch. Week one of 2018! Happy New Year!
