Mary and Ryan decided to have their wedding at Coolidge Family Farm in New Gloucester, Maine. It was my first time photographing at the venue and the place left me with such an amazing impression. I hope to photograph there many times in the future. There were so many corners of the property that sparked a lot of creativity in me. The grounds are beautiful and have spots for getting ready, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. Mary and Ryan planned and worked hard on creating the big and small details of their wedding. Combine all that with the Fall foliage we were graced with, and I couldn't have dreamed up a more gorgeous day. Thank you so much for having me Mary and Ryan!
I started my day with Mary while she was having her make up done by her sister in law. There were many rooms painted different colors to photograph Mary's details with. The room she was getting ready in had a great window giving off smooth light that I loved shooting around.
This little flower girl was an absolute delight! I love how she twirled and worked that dress.
Ryan got ready downstairs. The couple decided not to see each other until the first look.
After a first look, We took portraits of the happy bride and groom by the foliage on the outskirts of the property. Little did Ryan know that Mary had rented an old time car for portraits after the ceremony.
During the small break between first look photos and the ceremony I photographed a few more details. There were SO many beautiful ones, I couldn't help myself. Mary and Ryan brought in a large amount of their own and the barn was already decked out with little elements.
Before we knew it it was time for the ceremony! The ceremony site was on the property but since it was surrounded by trees it felt like a whole new spot. I loved how private it felt. There was also some great yellow foliage that worked well with the birch tree arbor and dried purple flowers the couple got married under. It was a great ceremony with smiles, laughter, and tears.
Right after, we went off for more photos of the now MARRIED couple. Here is that amazing car I had told you about! Well done Mary. Well done!
The couple finished portraits and family formals and then decided to enjoy their cocktail hour. They planned for a large part of their wedding day to be outside enjoying the many lawn games put out by Coolidge Family Farm. These were some of the most neat wedding lawn games I had ever seen and included a giant size pong set up. You'll see below that not just the adults had fun with that one.
Then it was time to head in for the reception! I took the opportunity to snag a few more detail shots. There wasn't a corner empty in this place. Pretty things everywhere! The couple went right into their first dance and were all smiles. The meal that followed was enjoyed by everyone. The barn had a loft that I was able to get some ariel shots from. That vantage point isn't always available to me so it was fun to try something different.
