Mandy and Ben's wedding day was beautiful in SO many ways. The weather was perfect, everyone was glowing with happiness for the couple, and as you'll see in these first few pictures Mandy's gown and accessories were to die for. I've gotten to photograph many beautiful dress in all kinds of settings, but photographing Mandy's in her childhood room was really something neat.
Wait... one more for the shoes. They're that amazing.
Mandy and her bridesmaid's got their hair and make up done at Anthony John's salon in Bangor.
Mandy was VERY happy with the stylists at Anthony John's work.
While I was with the ladies getting ready my awesome 2nd shooter for the day, Rebeca Richards of Rebeca Richards Photography documented Ben and his groomsmen preparing in their hotel room.
Then we all met at Morgan Hill Event Center for the ceremony. It was a lovely time and officiated by a close friend, Jonathan Erde.
I love these two pictures below. You can just see how smitten they are!
After the ceremony we took a few formal pictures with the bridal party and family members.
Then it was on to the reception! Morgan Hill's official caterer, Jolee Catering, catered the event and Mandy and Ben opted for cupcakes from Frank's Bakery for their guests dessert. I personally LOVED the idea. Not only were they adorable, having cupcakes offers different options for your guests. Oh... and they were delicious.
Mandy and Ben's first dance was a lively one and they incorporated Mandy's mother and Ben's father into it.
After everyone ate I stole Mandy and Ben for a few more pictures during the beautiful golden hour. I recommend every bride and groom takes just 15 minutes in the evening to sneak away for more pictures. Of course your wedding pictures will turn out beautiful no matter when you take them, but during that final hour before sunset MAGIC happens.
And HERE: An example of how a second shooter is an invaluable asset for your wedding photography! While I was capturing this moment between Mandy and Ben:
Rebecca was photographing them in silhouette:
Then it was on to the drinks, dancing, and celebration portion of the evening. Their DJ, Bill Lyons did an amazing job entertaining guests and directing the bouquet toss and garter throw.
NOTE: It doesn't hurt if your officiant also happens to be a superb conga line organizer.
Thank you so much Mandy and Ben for having me photograph your wedding! I can't wait to see you this holiday season in NYC ;) !
